When Texas State Poets Laureate
Karla k. Morton and Alan Birkelbach traveled to all 63 National Parks to write their historic and award-winning book “The National Parks: A Century of Grace”, they found themselves inevitably following the path of the Santa Fe Trail again and again. When they discovered this is the 200th anniversary of the Trail, they found themselves, like the ghosts of previous Santa Fe Trail travelers, writing songs about the dust, weather and people.
They will be reliving their journey and reading from this manuscript,
“Santa Fe Trail: Chasing the Big West”
